Pathways Evening 2010
‘For the attention of Year 8 Parents - The 17th March 2010 is ‘Pathways Evening' where your child will start the process of choosing his/her options for the next
academic year. Please put this date into your diary, your attendance is critical in ensuring your child opts for the right courses.
You have now reached a very important and exciting stage in your academic development. Shortly a decision will have to be made about subjects that you would like to study at GCSE or an equivalent level.
Some of you may have already decided what subjects you would like to study. If you are one of these people please make sure you realise it is still very important to find out about all of the option subjects before making a finaldecision.

The Q3 curriculum has been developed and designed to provide all students the opportunity to reach their full potential academically, personally, spiritually and socially. New initiatives such as the Headstart programme have been built into the curriculum to ensure the curriculum allows for the development ofthe whole child and not just engineered for academic development.
This brochure contains details of all the Year 9 courses on offer to you at the Q3 Academy. I strongly recommend all students and parents study the information carefully together before making any firm decisions.
Please remember you have also got an opportunity to discuss with subject specialists any specific queries you may have regarding a course, during the Year 8 Pathways Evening on Wednesday 17th March 2010.
All option courses are offered on the condition that there is sufficient interest by students to justify running the course and subject to staffing and timetabling constraints.
