Preloved Business Dress & Sports Kit
With the ongoing cost of living crisis, it is important we are more supportive of one another than ever before. As an Academy, we have begun to put measures in place to support our students and families at this time and we would like to foster the wider community spirit by creating a preloved Business Dress and Sports Kit store of items you may no longer need which can then be shared and redistributed within our community.
Football Camp for Year 7 & 8 Students
A local sporting company, ELP Sports, are offering a Football Camp for Year 7 and 8 students over the October half-term. This will run at the Academy from Monday 24th to Thursday 27th October 2022, 10am – 2pm. The cost is £25 for the week/£10 per day. Support for Parents/Carers – Anxiety and Stress
Yesterday we reflected on World Mental Health Day in the Academy. In light of this, and the upcoming National Stress Awareness Day on 2nd November, we are sharing a free Parents’ Guide to Teenage Anxiety and Stress provided generously through the organisation ‘The Parents’ Guide to’. Studio School and Sixth Form Open Evening
Studio School and Sixth Form, as part of our Trust family, would like to warmly extend an invitation for their upcoming Open Evening to our Academy community.
RSE Support for Parents/Carers
We encourage parents and carers to consider how they can support RSE at home, and proudly promote online sessions through Brook to support. These sessions aim to provide parents/carers with the confidence and skills to discuss healthy relationships with their children, and to support the mandatory RSE curriculum that students will be learning in their Wellbeing Inspire lessons. In addition, some sessions will focus on supporting young people with emotional wellbeing.
Ofsted Inspection of Q3 Academy Great Barr
We have been notified by Ofsted that the Academy will receive its routine inspection on 21st and 22nd September. The lead inspector will be Chris Stevens, HMI.

We are deeply saddened by the news that Queen Elizabeth II has passed away. Tomorrow, we will recognise this sombre, significant moment for our country with the dignity that it deserves, and give our students an opportunity to reflect and pay tribute to a truly extraordinary monarch.
