Specialist subject homework

Remote education
Remote education is a last resort and is not an equal alternative in-person education. We will only use it when attendance is not possible, or where safety considerations mean that some or all students cannot attend.
In the event of a full or partial closure
Work will be posted on Microsoft Teams from the first full day of closure. In the first instance, completion will be optional, as we recognise that families may need time to make arrangements.
From Day 2 of a prolonged closure, students would be expected to complete any work that is set and, where offered, to engage with live or pre-recorded video lessons as far as possible. Remote education will reflect the length of students' usual core teaching time, while accounting for age, SEND, home circumstances, and screen breaks.
If an individual student is absent but well enough to learn
In the very limited circumstances set out in government guidance, we may post work on Microsoft Teams to help a student stay on track with learning. This will usually be a short-term arrangement. It will be considered on a case-by-case basis, agreed with parents/carers and, where appropriate, the student, medical professionals, and the local authority. It will be reviewed regularly and used to support a return to normal education as soon as possible.
